Watch Dogs Delayed Again For Another 8 Months

Posted on April 01, 2014 by James Conway

Today Ubisoft has announced on their blog that their upcoming open-world game Watch Dogs is being delayed, again. The game is now set to be released sometime in January 2015, right in time to miss the holidays.

"Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs and after we delayed the game the first time, has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming," wrote Ubisoft on their blog. "It is with this in mind that we’ve made the easy decision to delay the release, again, until January 2015."

"We know a lot of you are probably wondering: What the hell is going on at Ubisoft? Did RockStar announce another Grand Theft Auto game or something? We struggled with whether we would delay the game again for about ten minutes. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we would only release this game when nothing else big was coming out. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before "completion", it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail of each detail, so that our details were detailing our details, and so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience in a safe launch date, far away from any other AAA open-world games."

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you. We thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the way you respond on the web, at events, press conferences and other opportunities we have to interact, if we actually showed up on time to them. Your passion keeps us motivated."

"We can’t wait to see you in Chicago this January. We are confident you’ll love this game as much as we love delaying working on it."
